At a recent maritime security coordination meeting in Hargeisa, Somaliland reaffirmed its commitment to working with regional and international partners to safeguard maritime security and ensure freedom of navigation. The message comes at a time when the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden are once again at the center of global geopolitical risk calculations.

Unlike many actors in the region, Somaliland is not reacting to instability.It has been containing it for years.
